Wow, what a winter! It is so cold, the snow doesn't clump together, so I had to add several litres of water in order to make this happy lunchtime snowman.
With an incredible sense of satisfaction, glowing cheeks, very cold hands, wet feet and trouser legs and hair sporting the dragged-through-a-hedge look, I ran to attend a BBSRC conference on systems biology having knocked this wee man together in half an hour. A good day for the inner child!
Here are a few snapshots of the allotment that I took on my mobile phone on the way into work. The field bean shoots look well and alive, but frozen into 15cm of solid ice, and covered with another 30cm of soft white snow.
